OK – So I have been getting a lot of emails lately from the ladies asking “isn’t red wine actually good for you? And if it’s good for you then why does it sometimes give you such a bad headache the next morning?” Well ladies, the simple answer is YES and No. While it’s true red wine is loaded with antioxidants and resveratrol both of which have been linked to anti-aging miracles, and a healthy heart, most red wine also contains heavy sulfites and of course alcohol both of which make your liver work a little harder on detoxing. When you drink a glass or two (or five but who’s counting) your body goes to work breaking down those sulfites on top of already breaking down the alcohol toxins. By the time you wake up your body has not gotten a chance to fully detoxify and those lingering toxins actually can tax your cells and dehydrate your body. For many people this means A MASSIVE HEADACHE usually follows a big night of drinking red wine. So what’s the solution? I’m like you in that I love a good cab, pino or zin but want to avoid the headache, so I park a GTOX shot on my nightstand. If World cup countries were guys at the bar: USA would be the cool guy who has a slam dunk girl to bring home until they drink one too many, black out and act like a complete idiot. England is the guy hammered drunk at 8pm looking to fight anyone until they pass out. Spain is the guy who refuses to drink beer, so they drink wine and scare all the girls off. Netherlands are too stoned to find the bar. African countries are sooo excited to actually be in a “real bar” they just sit in the corner and grin. Germany is drinking strong ales and telling you why they are better than you all night until they realize they have no friends left at the bar. Uruguay.. um where the hell is Uruguay? Brazil parties all night and into the next day mostly dancing by themselves alone on the dance floor. Argentina doesn’t even drink they are too busy waving a stupid oversized flag and singing the same song over and over and over…

It’s dehydration mostly that takes a toll on you when your drinking alcohol, duh, but the unknown killer in an alcohol hangover is BETA-G.
